MIG and Wernick Group deliver full modular fit-out for North Devon’s new Jubilee Ward
Located in Barnstaple, North Devon Hospital includes an emergency department, intensive care unit, women and children’s services and diagnostics as well as many outpatient clinics and specialist services.
When the hospital required additional space for its elective procedure patient area, the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (RDUHT) brought in MIG and Wernick Group to deliver a full modular fit out.
Wernick Group provided the outer shell of the hospital’s new 10 bed Jubilee ward, while we were tasked with the specialist fit-out of a full medical gas pipeline, furniture, medical equipment, air conditioning and HVAC system.
“North Devon Hospital required a full turnkey solution within a 10-week timescale, which can throw up a few challenges in these types of projects,” says Carl Mitten, director at MIG.
“However, we have an excellent working relationship with both the Trust and Wernick Group, having partnered with Wernick on successful large-scale modular projects in the past. Together, we were able to deliver the project to an exceptional standard and I’m extremely proud of the outcome.”
Marsh Pullen, capital contracts manager at the RDUHT, said: “MIG and Wernick Group are trusted partners, having worked with us previously on a number of projects. We know we can rely on them.
“Their work on the Jubilee ward has delivered a state-of-the-art facility with minimum disruption, and to the highest safety and quality standards.”
We’re incredibly pleased to announce that our work at North Devon District Hospital has been shortlisted for Healthcare Supplier of the Year at the IHEEM Healthcare Estates Awards 2022.
