MIG delivers new MRI centre for Warrington Hospital
When the Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust successfully bid for national funding to update its facilities, the Trust elected to add a new MRI centre to Warrington Hospital.
The new centre – complete with an additional MRI scanner – has also helped Warrington Hospital to reduce the backlog of treatment resulting from COVID-19.
Having already benefited from our medical gas services, the Trust tasked MIG with the refurbishment following consultation with its Authorised Person.
With the hospital still contending with a large influx of patients resulting from the pandemic, MIG engineers worked after hours and during the night to conduct the upgrade.
This allowed the department to remain fully functional during normal operating hours, helping to alleviate the inevitable pressures that have resulted from the pandemic.
“We have been working with hospitals since the start of 2020 to ensure they can cope with the additional demand from COVID-19,” says Ant Mitten, director at MIG.
“Our team often worked through the night to ensure the new MRI centre was delivered without disrupting the day-to-day operation of the department. It was a fantastic effort, and the results clearly speak for themselves.”
