MIG completes sensitive operating theatre refurbishment for Royal Lancashire Infirmary
When Royal Lancashire Infirmary required a full refurbishment of one of its operating theatres, it brought in MIG to deliver the project.
Working in a live healthcare environment, the refurbishment involved both logistical and safeguarding challenges, requiring minimal disruption to the hospital’s ongoing clinical activities.

In close cooperation with the hospital’s estates department, MIG stripped out the existing operating theatre before installing compliant to HTM 02-01.
This included medical gas pipelines, operating theatre pendants, surgeon control panel, theatre lights and a UCV canopy.

Stephen Mitten, director at MIG, said: “Operating theatre refurbishments are extremely sensitive projects, because they have to be conducted while patients are still being treated nearby.
“Our team was able to work with a superb level of coordination, flexibility and responsiveness, ensuring the refurbishment was completed on time and on budget with very little disturbance for patients.”
