In April 2020 Manchester Central exhibition and convention centre became “The NHS Nightingale Hospital North West” adding extra bed capacity to help with the fight against COVID-19.
The hospital was designed to provide treatment for up to 750 coronavirus patients from across Greater Manchester.
Using over 4 decades of experience in the design and development of a range of different products and services for the global healthcare sector, MIG produced a fully mobile emergency treatment bed.
150 beds were supplied to the NHS Nightingale Hospital North West on an extremely short lead time; ordered on the Monday before Easter, the first batch was delivered on Easter Friday with the remainder arriving in batches over the Easter weekend.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, the bed is extremely rigid, has an adjustable back rest and can be easily cleaned and decontaminated.
In March 2020 MIG developed a range of products and services to help fight the coronavirus crisis from initial Piped Oxygen Systems Testing through to the full fit-out of medical facilities whether they be stand-alone or situated within an existing building.
