From noise reduction to thermal efficiency, there are multiple reasons why you might be looking at external wall insulation (EWI) as a solution for your property. In this product spotlight, we’re going to explore the options available by K-Systems, a renowned fabricator of EWI solutions.
The company has developed a range of robust and innovative products available in a variety of different finishes, including silicone thin coat renders, dash renders, dash aggregate, brick slips, and rendering. But how can they be applied to commercial projects?

The K-System EWI Range
The K-Systems EWI range is extremely versatile, however, it can be broken down into three subcategories:
For upgrades and refurbishments: K-Systems E
K-Systems E uses EPS insulating panels made up of microscopic particles of graphite, offering enhanced thermal insulation.
The panels are lightweight and economical, meaning they’re often used to upgrade or refurbish existing buildings, or to thermally insulate new buildings to great effect. The MIG team can fix K-Systems E onto masonry structures, as well as non-traditional and alternative structures.
High fire resistance: K-Systems M
K-Systems M uses mineral wool insulation to provide the highest levels of fire resistance and non-combustibility. Importantly, the mineral wool does not contain gases with Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) or Global Warming Potential (GWP).
This particular system is commonly fixed onto masonry structures on high-rise buildings to ensure compliance with fire regulations. However, non-traditional and alternative structures can also be insulated with K-Systems M, depending on the requirements of the project.

High thermal performance: K-Systems P
K-Systems M uses phenolic foam insulation boards. The boards are lightweight and have low levels of thermal conductivity, meaning high levels of thermal performance can be achieved, even with thinner sections of insulation.
K-Systems P is often used for projects where physical expansion is tricky, and it can be fixed onto many different structures.
Regardless of the environment, the climate, or the nature of the building itself, these systems can be finished with different renders or brick slips, meaning the right insulation choices can be matched with your preferred aesthetics.

K-Systems and MIG
When applied correctly, K-Systems EWI solutions offer numerous benefits. Their exceptional thermal performance significantly reduces energy costs, keeping hot or cool air in and maintaining a comfortable ambient temperature.
Renders and slips also offer sound insulation and, importantly, they adhere to fire-resistance legislation, ensuring your building is as safe as possible.
MIG Facades brings extensive experience and expertise to every EWI project, combining K-Systems solutions with our first-class installation techniques to complete projects to the highest standard.
K-Systems solutions are built to last and require minimal upkeep, but the MIG team is always on hand to provide comprehensive support to all customers, even after installation.
It’s fair to say we know K-Systems products like no other installer. So, if you’d like some advice on how to apply a superior EWI solution to your own commercial project, reach out to a member of the team today.
