The performance and look of external facades will make or break the prowess of an entire building. There is a constant balancing act to be navigated between striking and memorable aesthetics, and how efficient and durable the outside-facing walls are.

The key is finding a service provider that will tick both these boxes simultaneously. MIG Facades has positioned itself among the world’s leading installers, designers and innovators to ensure that we do just that.
In collaboration with leading brands such as Cosentino, Terrix and K-Systems, a range of solutions are available to address any chosen look, performance metric, environmental concern or cost requirement.

Brick slips: a new take on the traditional
The innovation of external facades can be seen in construction projects across the UK at present. One increasingly popular method is the use of brick slips, which prove that modern facades don’t have to be slick and ultramodern in their design.
Brick slips pay homage to more traditional facades, ensuring the building stays consistent with the wider area or estate. The DHaus Company’s construction of The Arches, a townhouse segment of a north London conservation area, shows how brick slips can be a subtle but effective method. They replaced a derelict petrol station to create a series of three-storey homes in an authentic way.
The brick slip cladding matched the traditional tones, and epitomise the level of consideration that should go into any external facade project.

Stone claddings: great support and easy assembly
MIG Facades is partnered with a range of world-leading facade, insulation and cladding specialists to ensure complete flexibility of choice.
As well as the brick slip method, stone cladding is also enabled by Cosentino’s Dekton material. It comes in a versatile range of sizes and thicknesses, all with the same hardness as quartz and element-resistant properties.
The material was recently commissioned on a housing project in Spain where the three-storey building benefited from a stone finish for both look and purpose. The aim here was to stand out from the surroundings which was achieved through the choice of colour and texture. The stone cladding then assured great support and easy assembly for a quick but durable build.

Silicone rendering: a pop of colour and a stronger build
The balance of aesthetics and longevity can also be achieved through the use of silicone rendering. A Silicone thin coat render helps as a water repellent, and also with protection against mould and contamination. However, it also brings a fresh and modern appearance to an external facade.
MIG Facades works with Terrix to provide this simultaneous pop of colour and robustness of build, while also reducing EPC ratings for homeowners as part of our green agenda.

Ready for all requirements
External facades are your presentation to the outside world. They are a first impression of your home or office building, and therefore need to be striking. Beyond that, though, they can be a way to reduce emissions, to make energy more affordable, and to be more comfortable in your own surroundings.
To achieve these multiple benefits, it is important to choose a provider engulfed in expertise. MIG Facades and our team of partners has experience around the world of meeting each customer’s requirements with the full range of external facade services.
